Course Content
Course Overview
This IPAF-certified course provides comprehensive, hands-on training for operating Mobile Elevating Work Platforms across three key categories:
- 3a: Mobile Vertical (Scissor Lifts)
- 3b: Mobile Boom (Articulating & Telescopic Boom Lifts)
- 1b: Static Boom (Trailer-Mounted & Vehicle-Mounted Boom Lifts)
Operators gain the practical skills, safety awareness, and confidence needed to work safely and efficiently across multiple MEWP types.

- Understanding all three MEWP categories and safe applications
- Pre-use inspections, function tests, and machine checks
- Identifying hazards and assessing worksite risks
- Safe travelling, positioning, and operation of MEWPs
- Use of outriggers, stabilisers, and ground assessment

Course Duration
This is a full day course consisting of a theory module, written assessment, and practical element.
Certification
Successful participants receive an IPAF PAL Card for categories 3a, 3b, and 1b, recognised internationally and valid for 5 years.
